ABOUT ENDOMETRIOSIS
Endometriosis is an extremely common, yet severely under researched disease that effects an estimated 176 million women worldwide, and an estimated 1 in 10 women in the United States. On average it takes around 10 years from the onset of symptoms for diagnosis, and average age for diagnosis is 29.
Endometriosis occurs when tissues similar to the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) grows outside the uterus. Endo can cause excruciating, debilitating and chronic pain, and can affect every aspect of a woman's life.
